On August 25, at 9:50 p.m., the RCMP responded to a 911 call about an assault at a residence on the Montana First Nation.  

A male and female were located in the residence with serious injuries and the RCMP assisted with providing first aid, pending the arrival of EMS.  

A 42-year-old female was transported by STARS Air Ambulance and remains in hospital in critical condition.

A 37-year-old male was transported by ground ambulance and also remains in hospital.

The Maskwacis RCMP, with the assistance of Wetaskiwin General Investigation Section are investigating this incident and looking for any public assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible.
