From Innisfail RCMP:

Saturday afternoon (May 5th) at approximately 3:50 p.m., Innisfail RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 590 and Range Road 260 east of Innisfail. 

Preliminary investigation reports that a truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 590 and was attempting to turn northbound on Rural Road 260 when a collision occurred with a westbound motorcycle.

Tragically, the 35-year-old male driver and the 34-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle were pronounced deceased on scene. The male driver of the truck was not injured.

Traffic was re-routed around the collision area for several hours.   

Innisfail RCMP and a RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate. All contributing factors related to this collision are being considered.

Innisfail RCMP are currently on scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway 590 and Range Road 260 east of Innisfail. 

The collision involves a motorcycle and truck. Traffic is currently being re-routed around the collision area utilizing range roads.

A RCMP Collision analyst is on scene and traffic is expected to be re-routed for several hours. Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
