The winning streak is now eight games for the Blackfalds Wranglers after a 5-2 win over the Coaldale Copperheads Sunday (Oct. 29).

Firing at all cylinders, head coach Sean Neumeier said he can’t ask for too much more from his team right now.

“It’s one of those things where we are getting bounces, pucks are going in and our goalies are getting hit when they can’t see. Things are going well right now so you just have to enjoy it because these guys are battling. None of these wins have been easy.”

Copperheads threw almost 40 shots at the net, but like Neumeier said after the game, goaltending played a huge factor in the win.

“Our goaltending has been good all year and that’s why we are on an eight game winning streak. Those guys have held us in every night, especially when we’ve gotten off to slow starts.”

“They’ve been holding the door shut for us and giving us a chance to get it together and it’s been working so far.”

The 9-1 Wranglers travel to Okotoks on Friday for a game against the Bisons.
