With long standing playoff implications on the line, the Lacombe Generals will make their way into Rosetown this weekend for a double header with the 1st place Red Wings.

A single point separates the two teams, and Generals Forward Brett Robertson says the players know just how important this weekend will be.

“One game either way is going to make the difference. So there’s not a lot of room for error out there, with a small margin, and anything can happen. It’s also a good chance to see what they look like, and what we can expect going forward.”

While these two games may have been circled on our calendars for a while, head coach Sean Robertson says the team has been more focused on improving each and every day.

“It took us a lot of hard work to make this weekend a big one for us. It wasn’t really a thought a month ago, but as we kept rolling, it creeps into your mind a little more and a little more as we get closer.”

Coach says it’ll be some very exciting hockey, but all these two teams share are positions at the top of the standings.

“We bring different things to the table than they do. They have a lot of depth and are very good defensively, and don’t give up much. That’s kind of what we’re trying to do, not give up much, but we’re also trying to create as responsibly as we can without giving up too many opportunities.”

A win streak is certain to be snapped this weekend, whether it’s the Red Wings 4 gamer, or the Generals 9 game streak.
