On Friday, December 14th the Lacombe Generals were off to an energetic start against the Stony Plain Eagles at the Gary Moe Mazda Autoplex. In the first period, the Lacombe Generals scored three goals to start the game off.

The Stony Plain Eagles were able to score one goal in the first period against the Lacombe Generals.

Tensions rose between both teams in the second period when a myriad of penalties occurred for both teams after the Lacombe Generals scored their fourth goal.

The tensions were not enough to stop the Lacombe Generals when they scored yet another goal, leaving the score at 5-1 for the Generals at the end of the second period.

Tensions continued into the third period, and the Stony Plain Eagles were able to score their second goal on a power play. However, the Lacombe Generals were able to score two more goals before the game was over leaving the final score 8-2 for the Lacombe Generals.

Goals were scored by Adam Huxley, Giffen Nyren, Doug Jessey, Jesse Todd (x2), Kyle Sheen, Brennan Evans, and Collin Valcourt.

This is the biggest win for the Lacombe Generals all season.

Although the Lacombe Generals have seen their share of wins this season, Jeff McInnis, General Manager of the Lacombe Generals believes that they are coming out of a low point in the season.

He believes that the Generals have seen better participation in recent weeks and that in the past, other commitments were in the way of team bonding.

Jeff McInnis hopes that this shift in commitment and participation continues as the team prepares to take the Allan Cup which will be hosted by Lacombe in April 2019.
