It’s been a long wait, but just two more sleeps until fans get to see their Lacombe Generals on home ice for the first time this season.

Saturday marks the home opener against the Rosetown Red Wings, after spending the first three weeks of the season on the road.

Gens couldn’t have aksed for a better start, beginning the season 3-0, with their most recent win coming this past weekend in a 6-1 thumping of the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs.

Forward Myles Bell has been leading the way early on, recording five goals and four assists in the three wins.

GM Jeff McInnis is liking what he’s seen from the vets so far, but can’t wait for the fans to see some of the new guys.

What makes the evening extra special for McInnis, is that it’s their first regular season game following the official opening of the newly renovated arena.

So what do the Gens need to do to get the win Saturday night? Well, for Head Coach Sean Robertson, it’s simple.

Puck drop is slated for 7:30 at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex.

Make sure you don’t miss it.
