The Lacombe Generals are rolling right now, coming off a BIG 8-3 win over the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs at home over the weekend.

That was their 3rd straight win, but despite the lopsided score, Head Coach Sean Robertson says if it wasn’t for his team’s preparation, they could have easily lost that game.

“I’m proud of our guys for preparing to play hard, and respecting their opponent, and our game plan. Our puck possession was outstanding tonight, but at the same time, we gave them some outnumbered rushes. That’s an opportunistic team, with good players, and our guys needed to know that and they won the second period.”

Generals Forward and former Medicine Hat Tiger Brett Robertson notched a pair of goals and says they work on that game plan every week.

“Just keeping the puck and getting it down low, behind their defense, and then moving it up to our defense and across, then on net. It’s nice to say it pay off out there.”

The Gens now kick off a very busy month of December with 7 games in 17 days. The good news for fans though, is that 5 of those games will be at home.

Action kicks off Saturday in Stony Plain as they face an Eagles team that currently sits tied for second with the Generals with 13 points, but have lost 3 straight games.

Then on Sunday the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs come back to the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex, for a 5pm puck drop. In what is sure to be another high scoring contest.
