The Lacombe Generals had a perfect weekend, with a 6-3 road victory over the Innisfail Eagles on Sunday, and a 4-2 win against the Stony Plain Eagles at home the night before.

Despite the recent success, head coach Sean Robertson said his team needs to continue making winning plays.

“When Rosetown was in here, we chased their (goalie) and they kept (coming back). We had to change a couple things with how we’re getting our shots and what kind of shots they are, if they’re dangerous or not,” Robertson said.

“It doesn’t matter if we get 60 shots and lose a hockey game. We have to keep the puck out of our net. If we have the puck … I’m going to like our chances as long as we don’t give up the outnumbered chances.”

Lacombe is now just four points back of Fort Saskatchewan for first place in the ACHW, with a game at hand.

The Generals play another four games on the road. They return home to host Stony Plain on Jan. 19.
