It may be the off-season for the Central Alberta Buccaneers, but that isn't stopping the team from giving back to their community.

The Buccaneers are hosting their 10th Blood Drive tomorrow and will be going together to give the gift of life, and are inviting everyone to join them.

Todd Lewis, Director of Community Events says he selfishly came up with the idea, wanting someone to come with him to donate for the first time “I’m not a needle guy, it kind of grosses me out to be honest, I was kind of scared in my boots leading up to it, but I had my buddy’s there. It doesn’t hurt, it’s more just the mental block getting the needle itself, and the ladies at Canadian Blood Services in Red Deer, and they are so good”.

Lewis hopes others who are on the fence about giving blood and would like some support, will come out tomorrow from 10 to noon at the Blood Services clinic in Red Deer.
