It was a shut out win for the Lacombe Generals in their 3rd playoff game on Friday, February 15th. The 4-0 Generals victory followed a 3-0 victory for the Stony Plain Eagles on February 13th and things are definitely heating up between both teams.

Goals were scored by Levi Nelson, Dylan Nowakowski, Jesse Todd, and Kyle Stroh.

Tyler Weiman, goalie for the Generals managed to save 42 shots . Despite the loss on the 13th, Weiman has enjoyed a rather successful career with the Generals after starting with the team in late January.

“It’s an easier transition than I thought. When you’re surrounded by good players and good coaches you’re bound to succeed. They make it a lot easier for me. I’m still trying to get my feet wet and tonight is probably the most comfortable I have felt so far in these games,” said Weiman.

Despite the shut out, the game did not come without its challenges. It was a rough game resulting in a large number of penalties for both teams including two game misconducts given to both teams with a minute left.

Sean Robertson, Head coach commented on the aggressive play, “Nothing has changed it’s been going on like that for years. We’ve been in a position where we’ve been short for a lot of this year. I think teams feed off it and try to expose it and exploit it.”

Robertson believes that they will have good numbers for game 4 on Saturday in Stony Plain where he hopes to close the playoffs with a win for the Generals.
