Calnash Ag Event Centre, 3611 AB-2A, Ponoka, AB T4J 1J8, Ponoka, Alberta

Equestrian vaulting is gymnastics and dance performed on a horse. It can be done at the three different gaits: walk, trot and canter and can be done individually, pas de deux which is two people on the horse at all times, and a squad which is 6 vaulters with 1-3 on the horse at one time.

This competition is our Canadian Nationals, but also some of the vaulters are trying to qualify for a position to represent Canada at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in North Carolina. WEG is like the Olympics for horses and it is only held every four years with the last one being in Normandy, France. Canada is allowed to send one Canadian squad, two pas de deuxs and the women and mens division three individuals. There will be vaulters and clubs coming from Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The competition includes lower level vaulters that compete in walk levels and on a stationary barrel, as well as the high end vaulters competing at canter.

Admission to come and watch is free of charge. Hours are Friday 2:00-7:00 PM Approx, Saturday 9:00-5:00 PM, Sunday 9:00-4:00 PM
