Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory for Central Alberta and wind warnings for many other parts of our province.

Although winds are expected to die down somewhat this afternoon, there is still the chance of broken tree branches, and downed power lines.

Earlier this morning Sylvan Lake Emergency Services were called to an electrical situation on 50th Avenue and the railway lines. No other damage was reported.

A reminder from Fortis Alberta, that if you do see a downed power line to avoid the area and call them right away.
