United Way Central Alberta received more than $160,000 from the MEGlobal 2023 Employee Charities campaign.

The campaign raised $68,652 in employee contributions, and $68,652 in matching funds, along with an additional $24,408 raised during special company events for a grand total of $161,712.

United Way of Central Alberta Chief Executive Officer Chelsea O’Donoghue explained the support is outstanding and will help those in the community meet their basic needs.

“Partners like MEGlobal and their employees showcase how coming together in support of United Way changes local lives,” O’Donoghue said. “Your generosity strengthens our work in creating communities where everyone has access to basic needs, suitable mental health services, and a brighter future. Thank you MEGlobal. United we are stronger.”

MEGlobal’s 2023 Campaign Coordinator Jag Randhawa said he was moved by United Way’s work in addressing basic needs and promoting mental health awareness.

He added, witnessing the unity and support at in-person events was inspiring, and being a part of the campaign was an exhilarating experience.

“The generous contributions from MEGlobal employees, along with the company's matching program, reflect not only financial generosity but also a profound commitment to the betterment of our community,” he said. “A big thank you to all my colleagues for making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.”
