The Town of Penhold is able to complete their recreational land thanks to a new investment from the Government of Canada. $490,000 had been provided to Penhold’s Community Hub thanks to the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.

This investment, along with previous funding from the Penhold & District Optimist Club, and a generous donation from Stewart and Eileen Ford, a long standing local family, will allow the Town to expand recreational space and Penhold’s trail system.

“All levels of Government continue to focus on the health and wellness of its people. This multi-dimensional project will see our vision to create an environment with a focus on health, wellness, community engagement and attraction become a reality,” said Mike Yargeau.

The developments at the community hub include:

  • Trail connectivity
  • Furnishings such as benches and tables
  • Common area
  • Concession and restroom
  • Further development of Pump track/Skate park area
  • Ball Diamond development
