Time running out to remove your ice fishing shacks

Time is running out to remove your ice shacks off of local lakes.

Red Deer and Lacombe Counties remind you that all ice fishing gear and huts must be removed by Thursday, March 31st. This includes Sylvan Lake, Gull Lake and Buffalo Lake.

With the warmer weather forecast for this week, the sooner you get your shacks off the lake, the better.

This mandatory removal is set to avoid contamination to local water, fish populations and for general safety to users of the lakes.
