The North Red Deer Regional Wastewater Services Commission (NRDRWWSC) and the North Red Deer River Water Services Commission (NRDRWSC) would like to recognize several outgoing directors for their contributions to utility stability in Central Alberta.

Former Mayor of Blackfalds Richard Poole,  former Lacombe County Councillor Ken Wigmore and former Mayor of Ponoka Rick Bonnett recently completed their terms with the water commission.

"I would like to thank Mayor Poole, Mayor Bonnett, and Councillor Wigmore for their contributions to our region's water and wastewater services in Central Alberta," City of Lacombe Mayor and Chair for both the NRDRWSC and the NRDRWWSC Grant Creasey said. "All of our citizens care about getting quality services at a fair cost. The contributions of these board members helped ensure that Central Albertans have sustainable, long-term essential services without breaking the bank."

Mr. Wigmore was a member of the NRDRWSC since 2013 and NRDRWWSC since 2012, Mr. Bonnett served on NRDRWSC since 2013, and Mr Poole served as Blackfalds' representative on both commissions since 2016.

"The implementation of large-scale water and wastewater lines takes years of planning and foresight, followed by ongoing careful management," Creasey said. "These directors successfully saw through the development of two such large-scale projects, and the future of both these service lines are made easier by their efforts." The outgoing directors received gifts for their years of service to Central Albertans.
