The series of videos has been posted on the Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page recognizing the winners and their businesses.
Two new awards were offered this year by the chamber including the Philanthropy Award and the Business Resilience Award. The Philanthropy Award is given to a buisiness that demonstrates outstanding corporate philanthropy through donations of time and money. The Resilience Award recognizes a business that made changes to accomodate the community and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, Sylvan Laker Isiah Williams released a music video called Every Day's a Holiday (in Sylvan Lake). The video features the Business of the Year award sponsors and the 2020 Employee of the Year finalists and has been shared around 1600 times. The music video was both filmed and produced in Sylvan Lake.
Denise Bryan-Williams, Executive Director for the Sylvan Chamber of Commerce stated, “We couldn’t be more happy how this has turned out. Our original vision was to provide a “halftime” entertainment piece for our Business Awards, and to see how much it has brought the community together with a happy positive message in these difficult times is incredibly heart-warming. I couldn’t be more proud”.
