With all this rain, it may not feel like summer but the end of the school year is just around the corner.

On Wednesday, June 29th both the graduating students of the École Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School and Parkview Adventist Academy (PAA) will don their cap and gown and walk the stage. The Central Alberta Christian High School graduates hit the stage this weekend on Saturday, June 25.

In Wolf Creek Public Schools the year will wrap up for students on June 29th along with the Father Lacombe Catholic School. The Christian Schools will wrap-up class this week on Thursday June, 16th or Friday, June 17th depending on the student’s school. PAA will also be done classes as of Friday, June 17th.

Grade 8 Student at École Lacombe Junior High School, Owen Hamilton has three more exams left but is really looking forward to his summer break.

“[I’m going on] a few vacations, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends,” said Hamilton.

Although Hamilton is looking forward to the end of the year, he says he had a great school year. This summer, he really looking forward to heading to a couple local favourite events like Lacombe Days and Westerner Days.

“The parade is pretty cool because it's just cool to look at. Even though I should be too old for it, I’m not,” added Hamilton.

Hamilton said he couldn’t name a favourite ride at Westerner Days because he hasn’t been there in awhile but he’s really looking forward to going this year.

He is also looking forward to playing video games and tennis this summer and maybe grabbing some Moonmist or vanilla ice cream.
