On Wednesday at around night around 7 p.m., Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) were conducting patrols when they saw a stolen Chevrolet Colorado.  After the successful use of a tire deflation device, the driver then lost control of the vehicle in Ponoka, Alta. and fled on foot. With the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Service the suspect was located nearby and arrested.

Alyssa Latschislaw, a 20-year-old resident of Red Deer, was arrested and remanded into custody. She is charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Additional offences under the Traffic Safety Act
