Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the central Alberta area.

We can expect unseasonably hot and dry conditions beginning this weekend. The highest temperatures are expected from Sunday through to Tuesday. Daytime highs will be in the high 20’s and low 30’s while overnight lows are expected to be in the low teens.

Environment Canada warns that elevated temperatures put more at risk for heat related illnesses.

This will affect areas around Lacombe, Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail, and Stettler.
