UPDATE: Suspect in custody (Rocky RCMP searching for armed man, shelter in place issued)

 Rocky Mountain House RCMP advise the shelter in place has now ended.  One male has been safely taken into custody.

BACKGROUND: September 4th, 10:30 am

Rocky Mountain House RCMP have issued a shelter in place for the area of 46 street and 53 avenue (east of No Frills and Canadian Tire).

They are responding to a firearms complaint.   If you live in this area, please remain inside your residence and lock the doors. Contact Police or call 911 if you see anything suspicious in the area.

Refrain from posting police activity and whereabouts on social media.
