Red Deer’s Mustard Seed will be hosting a couple of special events for the organization’s guests over the holiday season.

“People experiencing homelessness and poverty can often feel isolated and lonely during the Christmas season, so we strive to bring hope, joy, peace, and love to their lives in the various ways that we support them in their daily lives,” said Byron Bradley, Managing Director of Central Alberta’s Mustard Seed.

Drop-in guests will be able to take part in a 5-Day event. They will be able to enjoy a Christmas community meal and gift exchange tomorrow (December 23) at 5PM. Shelter guests will be able to take part in a 7-Day event with a Christmas dinner for shelter guests only on Christmas Day (December 25).

“We cannot do this without the support from the community and we need their support now more than ever so we appreciate every hour volunteered and every dollar that can help feed, clothe, put a roof over someone’s head or provide a caring person to support them and help them get back on their two feet” added Bradley.

The Mustard Seed hopes to make the holidays special for their guests and ensure that they know that someone cares.
