Harley, a black 6-year-old Labrador retriever, has been a Facility Dog for over 4 years, working alongside Red Deer City Victim Services Unit (VSU). During his service, Harley has logged nearly 700 hours, providing support to more than 300 individuals and families affected by crime and tragedy. Harley also regularly provided support at the Red Deer Provincial Court and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.

Red Deer City VSU and Red Deer RCMP thank their sponsors who have supported the Facility Dog Program.

Harley spent many hours engaging with community and building meaningful relationships, and has made an invaluable difference to the community. His dedication to his role is highly appreciated. A retirement party for Harley will be held on Friday, September 2nd.

The process to obtain a new Facility Dog has begun, with a replacement expected by January 2023.
