Red Deer Regional Health Foundation is asking for support in raising funds for their Vital Monitor Campaign.

The Foundation is an integral part of the Red Deer Regional Hospital and community, working with donors to enhance healthcare programs and fund new equipment for everyone in Alberta Health Service’s Central Zone.

Two vital monitors, which measure basic body functions such as heart rate and rhythm, oxygen levels and blood pressure, are needed for the Endoscopy Department and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Patients of these two units require continuous observation through these medical devices to alert care teams of any critical changes in their health status.

“We are very grateful to all of our donors that assist us in purchasing equipment that is not covered by public funds,” said Manon Therriault, Red Deer Regional Health Foundation’s CEO. “By rallying together, the Foundation works to fund today’s needs, ensuring we can provide the best healthcare for our community.”

Canadian Pacific recently committed to generously matching all donations up to $20,000, which will cover the cost of one monitor. The Foundation’s goal is to raise funds for the second monitor as soon as possible.

“Investing in the communities we operate in and through is very important to CP. We are proud to continue our legacy with Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and support their pursuit to provide the best care for Red Deer and area residents, which includes CP employees,” said Scott Young, CP Trainmaster Red Deer.
