Red Deer Rebels forward Kalan Lind has been named to Canada’s roster for the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, July 31 – August 6 in Red Deer.
Lind was chosen for Team Canada (U18) following selection camp held in Calgary from July 20-23.
The Shaunavon, SK, becomes the 18th Red Deer Rebels player to play for Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, the most of any team in the history of the event:

Selected sixth overall by the Rebels at the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Kind competed at the 2021 Capital City Challenge in Ottawa last November, helping Team White win the bronze medal. Lind scored three times and added one assist in five games in the four-team tournament that included the women’s national squad and three teams featuring the top under-17 players from across Canada.
Team Canada (U18) will prepare for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup by playing a pair of games in Calgary against Red and White teams from Canada’s National Junior Team (U20) summer camp. Canada will then play a pre-tournament game this Friday, July 29 vs. Finland at the Peavey Mart Centrium, followed by preliminary games vs. Switzerland on Sunday, July 31, Slovakia on Tues. August 2, and Sweden on Wed. August 3. All of Canada’s games at the event go at 7 p.m.
