Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) has solidified a partnership with Red Deer Child Care Society to offer daycare services at Maryview School and St. Teresa of Avila School, which aligns with RDCRS’ Pre-Kindergarten Hub Model.

This service is open to children in the Pre-Kindergarten programs. An estimated 15 to 20 daycare spots will be available for registration.

Red Deer Child Care Society is ensuring that parents who apply for childcare at Maryview School and St. Teresa of Avila School will be able to access the Child Care Subsidy to offset costs.

“We are looking forward to being able to provide our Pre-Kindergarten students child care services,” says Kathleen Finnigan, Superintendent at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools. “It is our hope that this offers some flexibility for parents and their schedules with the availability of before and after school childcare.”

The Pre-Kindergarten Hub Model supports Pre-Kindergarten students with designated programming in a “HUB Model” setting, located within two of RDCRS’ Division schools: one in the north and the other in the south end of Red Deer. It offers a robust early learning experience and high-quality programming for young students.

Transportation at the Pre-Kindergarten Hub schools will include one-way bussing for Pre-K students (for example, if a student is attending the morning program, they will get bussed to school, and if a student is attending the afternoon program, they will get bussed home after school).

Information about the registration process will be released in the coming weeks.
