The Red Deer Rebels have taken full control of their best-of-seven WHL Eastern Conference Semifinal, after winning game two in Saskatoon 5-2.

They had entered their game Sunday after beating the Blades 3-1 on Friday night in game one at the Sask Tel Centre.

Rebels goalie Kyle Kelsey made 14 of 16 saves, as the Rebels limited the Blades to just 16 shots in the entire game.

After a scoreless first period, Red Deer came into the second period with three unanswered goals by Ben King, Christoffer Sedoff, and Jhett Larson. Carson Birnie would score again at the start of the third to make it a 4-0 game. Two goals from Saskatoon would not be enough as Jayden Grubbe would score a fifth for the visitors.

Final score, 5-2.

Ben King, who had a goal and three assists was named the first star.

The series now comes back to Red Deer for game three, Tuesday night at 7:00 pm and game four,  Wednesday night at 7:00
