The Red Deer Rebels will play games in 2021.

On Wednesday, January 28th, The Western Hockey League announced it has been granted approval by the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health to return to play, which will enable the WHL’s Alberta-based teams in the Central Division to open their season on Friday, February 26.

Brent Sutter, The President, GM and Head Coach of The Rebels says the team will play a 24 game schedule. "The games will be played on weekends only with home and home games. Each team will play four weeks in a row and then get a bye weekend."

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 protocol, no fans will be permitted for games this season. Some positive news for fans is that all of the games will be live streamed. If you are a season ticket holder, according to the Rebels website, you do have a couple options:

"Season Tickets for the 2020/21 season are postponed to 2021/22.  Any payments will automatically be credited to the 2021/22 season.  Additional funds will be added to each Member’s account in the form of a 2021/22 credit, in lieu of un-played games from last season.  Every Member’s seat location will be preserved for 2021/22.  Please contact the Rebels office directly if you would like your 2020/21 payment or deposit refunded."
