The Red Deer Rebels are now down 1 game to 0 in their best-of-seven round two series against the Saskatoon Blades after losing 4-1 on Friday night.

Over 8,000 fans at the SaskTel Centre got to see why the Blades were the top team this season.

Saskatoon would get the only goal in the first period, but then it looked like the Rebels had the Blades figured out as Carson Birnie would score at the 5:29 mark in the second to tie the game up at 1-1.

Unfortunately, for Red Deer, two more Saskatoon goals in the second and an empty net goal at the 19:11 mark in the third would seal the deal for the home team.

Chase Wutzke would stop 20 of 23 shots in net for Red Deer.

Game two goes at 4:00 pm tomorrow (Sunday) in Saskatoon. The teams will then come back to Red Deer for games 3 (Tuesday) and 4 (Wednesday) at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Both games start at 7:00 pm.
