The Red Deer Rebels lost for the first time in 2023.

The team was on the start of a two-game road trip to Saskatchewan, and lost 2-1 to The Prince Albert Raiders. Despite outshooting their opponent 33-20, they just couldn't seem to get it past Raider's goal tender Max Hildebrand.

The Rebs lone goal came from Jace Isley in the first period.

Special teams didn't help Red Deer either, as they went 0-7 on the power play.

Rebels Captain Jayden Grubbe, took a big hit from a Raiders defenceman and couldn't continue the rest of the game. There is no word whether he will be in Saturday's match.

The Rebels will conclude their brief trip with a meeting with the Blades today (Saturday) in Saskatoon. Red Deer will then return home to prepare for a home date with the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday.
