Red Deer Rebels-4 Calgary Hitmen-2

The Red Deer Rebels rebounded Monday night on the road in Calgary with a 4-2 win over the Hitmen.

Red Deer now leads the best-of-seven WHL quarterfinals series 2 games to 1. 

After a first period Hitmen goal, the Rebels responded with two of their own in the same frame. Matteo Fabrizi got them on the board first, then under a minute later Kai Uchacz would score to put the visitors up 2-1 after one.

In the second period, Red Deer would go up 3-1 after a nice pass from Uchacz to Frantisek Formanek. Calgary would get back into the game with their second goal on the power play.

There was no scoring in the third until Kai Uchacz would get his second of the game, an empty net goal at the 19:23 mark. Uchacz was named first star of the game.

Rebels' goalie Kyle Kelsey would stop 36 of 38 shots and would be named third star.

Game four will be back in Calgary tomorrow night (Wednesday) and game five Friday at The Peavey Mart Centrium.
