Red Deer Rebels Owner/President/General Manager Brent Sutter announced that the club has completed a trade with the Kamloops Blazers.

The Rebels have acquired 2004-born defenceman Mats Lindgren from Kamloops in exchange for 2003-born defenceman Kyle Masters and a conditional* first-round selection at the 2025 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft.

(*If the Rebels are part of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft Lottery, the first-round pick going to Kamloops will move to the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft)

Lindgren was selected by Kamloops in the first round, seventh overall at the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. In 94 career regular season games with the Blazers, Lindgren recorded six goals and 48 assists for 54 points. He also had 54 penalty minutes and a plus-21 rating.

A native of North Vancouver, BC who holds Canadian and Swedish citizenship, Lindgren was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in round four of the 2022 NHL Draft (107th overall).
