The Red Deer RCMP GIS investigation reviewed numerous videos that were taken during the September 20th, 2020 anti-racism rally in Red Deer that was distributed by hate groups.

This uncovered a third incident of an assault that occurred during the demonstration. This third incident is mentioned below in the news story and is being treated as a separate incident.

As a result, Trevor Lyle Roy (42) of Penhold has been charged with assault in relation to this third incident and he is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial Court on Nov. 17, 2020.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.

Red Deer RCMP GIS' investigation into the Sept. 20, 2020, rally is completed and no further charges are anticipated.

The Alberta RCMP would like to remind citizens that they are afforded the right to peacefully demonstrate; however, this does not mean unlawful behaviour will be tolerated.
