On Nov.10th 2021, the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant with the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Wetaskiwin General Investigations Section and Wetaskiwin RCMP on a Wetaskiwin County rural property.
RCMP arrested three males and two females on the property.
RCMP recovered 15 firearms and over $100,000 dollars worth of stolen property including multiple vehicles and holiday trailers. Some of the firearms had been stolen from residential and commercial locations.
As a result of the investigation, all five individuals arrested are facing the following charges:
Sean Greenwall (39) of Wetaskiwin, AB is charged with:
· Possession of a weapon contrary to order
· Fail to comply with release order
· Possession of property obtained by crime (x10)
· Unsafe storage of a firearm
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon (x7)
· Unauthorized possess of a restricted firearm with ammunition (x6)
· Possession of weapon obtained by crime (x2)
Barry Manion (60) of Wetaskiwin, AB is charged with:
· Possession of property obtained by crime (x10)
· Unsafe storage of a firearm
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon (x7)
· Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition (x6)
· Possession of weapon obtained by crime (x2)
Al Strong (41) of Leduc, AB is charged with:
· Possession of a weapon contrary to order
· Possession of property obtained by crime (x10)
· Unsafe storage of a firearm
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon (x7)
· Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition (x6)
· Possession of weapon obtained by crime (x2)
Darlene Arnold (43) of Wetaskiwin, AB is charged with:
· Possession of property obtained by crime (x10)
· Unsafe storage of a firearm
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon (x7)
· Unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition (x6)
· Possession of weapon obtained by crime (x2)
Jennifer Eglinski (35) of Wetaskiwin, AB is charged with:
· Possession of property obtained by crime (x10)
· Unsafe storage of a firearm
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon (x7)
· Possession of weapon obtained by crime (x2)
All five individuals were brought before a Justice of the Peace. Arnold and Manion were each released on $1000 promise to pay release order. Eglinski was released on $3000 promise to pay release order. Greenwall was initially remanded and then later released on $500 cash bail. Strong was remanded into custody. All 5 individuals are scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on December 2nd, 2021.
