On Dec. 21,2022, at approximately 4:24 a.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP were dispatched to a call of a stolen truck.  The victim advised that they had video surveillance and were able to see the suspects take the truck off of their driveway. 

On Dec. 22, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP received a report that the stolen truck had been seen on highway 13 west of Wetaskiwin.  The witnesses followed the vehicle while officers were en route.  As the suspects turned onto range road 251 they noticed they were being followed and started shooting a firearm at the witnesses.  One round struck the windshield. Witnesses backed off and the suspects left the area.

While RCMP investigate both these incidents we are requesting public assistance in identifying the suspects and locating the stolen vehicle.

Suspects are described as:

  • Two males
  • Driver was wearing a red shirt under a black coat and a red shoes
  • Passenger was dressed in all black clothing
  • Both suspects had coverings over their face. 

The Stolen vehicle is described as a Black 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche bearing Alberta licence plate CKY 2089.
