On July 8, 2022, at 8:25 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of an altercation on 40 Avenue east of 56 Street in Wetaskiwin. When first responders arrived on scene they located a male with life threatening injuries. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Antwon Bull of Ponoka succumbed to his injuries later that evening in the hospital.
The subsquent investigation resulted in the Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit charging two males with one count each of second degree murder. After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, 27-year-old Adam James Cook, and 20-year-old Morgan Maslin, both from Wetaskiwin were remanded into custody.
Their next appearance has been set for 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court.
