On Mar. 29, Calgary Police alerted Red Deer RCMP that they were following a male driver who was unlawfully at large and had threatened to shoot police. The suspect was believed to be driving a vehicle stolen out of Stettler.

The Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team located the vehicle in the Costco parking lot in Gasoline Alley and members quickly intercepted the male as he entered the store.

Bruce Johnson, 66, was arrested without incident and has been remanded into custody.

Calgary Police are still investigating the incident to determine if additional charges are warranted.
