The winning streak stopped at 15 games with the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens falling to the Dawson College Blues 68-51 in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Women’s Basketball Championship quarterfinals.

Guard Sophie Melin (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology) led the way for her team with 20 points and was named the player of the game for her team.

The Queens will now move over to the bronze medal side of the bracket and will play today (March 16th)  at 1 pm MST.

Their opponent is to be determined. It will either be the host Mohawk College Mountaineers or the Vancouver Island University Mariners who were the champions out of the PACWEST conference in British Columbia.
