On October 23, 2016 at approximately 11:41 P.M. the Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to a complaint in downtown Ponoka.  Police arrived and found out through witnesses that a male had been stabbed and several people were assaulted and contaminated with bear spray.
 
Through investigation it was determined that the suspect had departed the scene and the victim had been taken to Ponoka Hospital.  The victim, a 20 year old male from Maskwacis, Ab, had a stab would to his upper arm and is in stable condition.
 
A suspect was identified and arrested shortly after the incident.  Trey Potts, 24 years old, from Maskwacis, Ab, has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.  Potts is to appear in Ponoka Provincial Court on November 04, 2016.
