Fortis Alberta has informed customers in the Sylvan Lake area that there will be a planned power outage until about 1:30 this afternoon (Thursday).

This will affect homes and businesses east of highway 20 and south of 47th avenue.

Fortis says the cause of the outage is for restoration and construction.
