The election was just over a week ago and the official results are in! Here's a look at voter turnout for the 2023 Provincial General Election: 

  • 1,777,321 votes cast at a 59.5 per cent turnout 
  • 758,640 votes were counted during advanced polls 
  • 21.9 per cent of voters used the ‘Vote Anywhere’ service 

 

Lacombe-Ponoka Riding 

Lacombe-Ponoka saw a 61.3 per cent voter turnout with 21,200 valid ballots cast in the 2023 election. In 2019, this riding saw a 75.07 per cent voter turnout. There were 227 spoiled, declined, or rejected ballots in this riding for the 2023 election.  

Here are the official results for the Lacombe-Ponoka riding: 

  • Nominated Candidate for United Conservative Party, Jennifer Johnson: 14,324 votes (67.6 per cent) 
  • New Democratic Party, Dave Dale: 4,995 votes (23.6 per cent)  
  • Alberta Party, Myles Chykerda: 1,167 votes (5.5 per cent)  
  • Wildrose Loyalty Coalition, Daniel Jefferies: 444 votes (2.1 per cent) 
  • Green Part, Taylor Lowery: 196 votes (0.9 per cent) 

 

Innisfail- Sylvan Lake  

Innisfail-Sylvan Lake saw a 61.4 per cent voter turnout with 22,882 valid ballots cast. In 2019, this riding saw a 73.32 per cent voter turnout. There were 201 spoiled, declined or rejected ballots in this riding for the 2023 election.  

Here are the official results for the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding: 

  • United Conservative Party, Devin Dreeshen: 16,385 votes (71.6 per cent) 
  • New Democratic Party, Jason Heistad: 5,700 votes (24.9 per cent) 
  • Independence Party of Alberta, David Reid: 276 (1.2 per cent) 
  • Wildrose Independence Party, Jeevan Mangat: 240 (1 per cent)  
  • Solidarity Movement of Alberta, Brandon Pringle: 149 (0.7 per cent) 
  • Reform Party of Alberta, Randy Thorsteinson: 132 (0.6 per cent) 

 

Red Deer- North 

Red Deer-North saw a 55.5 per cent voter turnout with 18,494 valid ballots cast. In 2019, this riding saw a 66.2 per cent voter turnout. There were 191 spoiled, declined or rejected ballots in this riding for the 2023 election. 

Here are the official results for the Red Deer-North riding: 

  • United Conservative Party, Adrianna LaGrange: 10,629 votes (57.5 per cent) 
  • New Democratic Party, Jaelene Tweedle: 7,144 (38.6 per cent)  
  • Independence Party of Alberta, Vicky Bayford: 281 (1.5 per cent)  
  • Green Party, Heather Morigeau: 257 (1.4 per cent) 
  • Solidarity Movement of Alberta, Kallie Dyck: 183 (1 per cent) 

 

Red Deer- South 

Red Deer-South saw a 61.8 per cent voter turnout with 24,025 valid ballots cast. In 2019, this riding saw a 71.92 per cent voter turnout. There were 237 spoiled, declined or rejected ballots in this riding for the 2023 election. 

Here are the official results for the Red Deer-South riding: 

  • United Conservative Party, Jason Stephan: 13,469 votes (56.1 per cent) 
  • New Democratic Party, Michelle Baer: 9,976 votes (41.5 per cent)  
  • Green Party, Ashley MacDonald: 274 votes(1.1 per cent) 
  • Wildrose Loyalty Coalition, Jesse Stretch: 160 votes (0.7 per cent) 
  • Solidarity Movement of Alberta, Pamela Liebenberg: 146 votes (0.6 per cent) 

 

Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre 

Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre saw a 64.9 per cent voter turnout with 22,416 valid ballots cast. In 2019, this riding saw a 75.36 per cent voter turnout. There were 234 spoiled, declined or rejected ballots in this riding for the 2023 election. 

Here are the official results for the Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre riding:  

  • United Conservative Party, Jason Nixon: 15,571 votes (69.5 per cent) 
  • Independent Candidate, Tim Hoven: 3,393 votes (15.1 per cent) 
  • New Democratic Party, Vance Buchwald: 3,118 votes(13.9 per cent) 
  • Independent Candidate, Fred Schwieger: 135 votes (0.6 per cent) 
  • Advantage Party of Alberta, Carol Nordlund Kinsey:  103 votes (0.5 per cent) 
  • Wildrose Loyalty Coalition, Tami Tatlock: 96 votes (0.4 per cent)
