A newly recruited family physician is now available to provide care to residents in Sylvan Lake and area.

Dr. Ifeoma Ezeude works out of Sylvan Family Health Centre and Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service.

“It’s a pleasure to announce the addition of Dr. Ezeude to Sylvan Lake and the Central Zone medical team to help care for local residents,” says Devin Dreeshen, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, and MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake. “Her skills and experience will be an excellent addition to our community and the region.”

With Dr. Ezeude’s arrival, there are now 17 physicians practising in Sylvan Lake.

“I look forward to serving and contributing to the community,” Dr. Ezeude says.

She was trained in Nigeria, and her interests include writing, enjoying quality time with family, and reading for leisure.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) continues to recruit for physicians across its Central Zone to meet community needs.

AHS has physician resource planners dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as local Health Advisory Councils, the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
