At 9:00 AM this morning (August 25, 2022) Rimbey RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on 50th Avenue in Rimbey. A truck backed into the Red Apple store located at 4929 50 Avenue.
“We received a call, a report of a collision between a truck and building. The driver of the truck backed into the building causing damage to both truck and building. EMS and fire attended. The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for an evaluation that looks like a medical issue,” said Corporal Troy Savinkoff, Media Relations Officer.
The driver of the vehicle is believed to have been dealing with a medical emergency at the time of the incident.
“The driver is being treated for a medical issue, but not injuries as a result of the collision,” added Savinkoff.
Savinkoff confirmed that no one else was injured in the incident.
Red Apple has said on social media that they will be closed until further notice.
