The opportunity to take part in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) consultation survey on Canada's Seed Regulatory Modernization is set to close May 1, 2023.

Farmers and others in the seed sector are encouraged to take part in the discussion and submit any recommendations they may have about the future of our seed system.

The CFIA is seeking comments from farmers, businesses, organizations, and others in the grain sector as well as the general public on a wide range of topics from variety registration to seed crop certification, harvesting, cleaning, and conditioning of seed to sampling, testing, and grading of seed.

The next consultation will focus on seed certification and labeling, the sale of seed to farmers, as well as seed import and export.
