From the Maskwacis RCMP: May 6th, 2020:

Tyrone Emblau was arrested without incident by the Maskwacis RCMP Community Response Unit and General Investigative Section (CRU-GIS) on the evening of May 5th, 2020.

Maskwacis CRU-GIS located Emblau at a residence in Calgary. Calgary Police Service and the Calgary Sheriffs assisted with arresting Emblau.

Emblau remains in custody and is scheduled for court in Wetaskiwin on May 14th on the charges related to his escape.

On Sunday, May 3, RCMP responded to a report that Tyrone Michael Emblau (36) has escaped custody of Correctional Services of Canada. 

Emblau fled from the minimum-security Pê Sâkâstêw Centre in Maskwacis where he was serving a sentence for assault with intent to resist arrest. He is facing charges by the Maskwacis RCMP for prison breach, escape from lawful custody, and being unlawfully at large.

Tyrone Emblau is described as follows:

  • 36-years-old
  • 6’2” tall
  • 260 pounds
  • Medium complexion
  • Black hair and green eyes
