The City of Red Deer is continuing to respond to localized flooding due to heavy rainfall.

City crews are responding to calls across The City, and residents are asked to call Public Works at 403-342-8238 to report flooding on roadways.

All major roads in the city have opened.

A rainfall warning for this area has ended. We continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they are available.

 

BACKGROUND STORY: June 23rdLocalized flooding is happening on some City streets due to heavy rainfall. 

Motorists are advised that following streets and intersections are currently closed and traffic is being re-routed:

  • Taylor Drive between 19th Street and 22nd Street
  • Gaetz and 19th Street
  • 40 Ave. from Ross St. to 39 St.
  • Molly Bannister Dr. & Bremner Ave.
  • Boyce St & Baker Ave.

Additionally there is some water pooling on the road way Southbound on the QEII between 32 ST and Hwy2A, near Red Deer, water pooling on roadway. Crews on scene. Speed reduction in effect.
