Fire crews in Lacombe and Blackfalds were responding to multiple fires in the Lacombe County along the 2A Highway today (April 26, 2023). 

Traffic was being redirected from Highway 2A for a time as emergency crews dealt with the blazes. At least two fires were near the railway tracks alongside Highway 2A between Blackfalds and Lacombe. 

The Town of Blackfalds directed residents to avoid the Rolling Hills and the CP Railways. 

Some emergency crews may remain in the area watching hot spots.
