The Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an election forum on May 16, 2023.
Those attending will have the opportunity to meet with local candidates, ask questions, and listen to their platforms. According to Jeffrey Hanger, Executive Director of the Chamber, five out of six candidates will be at the event.
“Dave Dale from the NDP isn't going to be available that night, but as far as I know, everyone else is coming,” said Hanger.
Hanger says audience members will have the chance to submit questions during the night but there is a process in place to
“We won't be taking questions through the microphone. We'll be taking questions from the audience on pieces of paper, which will be submitted to a couple of scrutineers so that we can make sure that the best questions get asked,” said Hanger.
The event is being held at the Lacombe Memorial Centre’s Centennial Hall and doors open at 6:30PM. Audience members will have the chance to meet the candidates personally if they arrive early, and then the forum begins at 7:00PM. Hanger expects the forum to go until 9:00PM.
