Water Ski Canada has announced the team for the 2022 IWWF Senior (35+) World Water Ski Championship. Canada will send a group of 22 skiers to the Championships that will take place at Baurech Lake, France from September 12th - 18th.

Lacombe Athlete, Todd Schafer will be competing. Schafer will compete in the Men's 35+ Slalom division. He has also recently built a water ski lake in Lacombe called Schacres Lake.

The team will be coached by Pierre Plouffe and managed by Wendy Durigon.

“This is one of the biggest teams we have had to represent Canada at the Senior World Championships. We have a large group of great athletes competing and I am excited to watch them perform on the water” said National Team head Coach, Steve Bush.

In addition to individual medals being awarded in slalom, tricks, jump, and overall, an overall team title will be up for grabs. Team scoring will be calculated from all the age divisions combined, per the IWWF 35+ competition rules. The best five team scores from each event - but with a maximum of two scores from each age category - are added together to obtain the team score.
