The Lacombe AA Generals are playing in the Hocky Alberta Provincial Championships following a decision by Hockey Alberta. The team has been added in as a ‘wildcard team’.

Hockey Alberta has suspended the operations of the Ranchland Hockey League and with that, all RHL team are ineligible to play any further games this season.

“After announcing this decision, Hockey Alberta then looked to find a team that could take the spot of the Ranchland.  They contacted Dewberry (who were finalists in the Saskalta League) but they didn't feel they could ice a complete lineup.  Hockey Alberta's next option was to invite both NCHL finalists to the tournament,” said NCHL in a release.

The 2022 Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships are taking place April 7-10 in Fort Saskatchewan.

The Gens will be playing today (Saturday, April 9) from 4:30PM to 7:00PM against the Camrose Crush once more and again on Sunday, April 10. The time of that game is still TBD.

You can watch the game live on the team's social media page.
